Off to Antarctica 27 Dec 2017

First night on the boat...slept well.
Had breakfast and now doing last minute shopping before we sail away at 14h00 hours today.

The yacht club

We were supposed to leave at two, but after getting the formalities done at the military building we ask went for lunch at a local restaurant. Again obscene amounts of meat which I took all the leftovers for the street dogs. Have it to one staying at the yacht club. Peter, pur skipper is the man on the left, being the litre of beer we ordered with lunch! Beer, like everything here is so expensive. A normal size beer is about R100 I a restaurant!

We should sail in a few hours. Peter has 40 years experience and 10 in the Antarctic and we've inky beard praise for him. Reassuring.
Beautiful dog outside the bank

We are checking the sails now

Huge loaves of crispy bread

2 trunks of chocolates and biscuits! I got the enjoyable task of packing them!

Roy and my bedroom. We were lucky to be first and get the one in the middle. Best for not being seasick.
